C4|Capital was founded by its principal, John Correia, to provide professional and focused finance broking and advisory services to the property and business sector.

John has a proven track record in delivering financing solutions and advice, in a 30+ year career.

Commencing as a graduate with Westpac, he covered analyst roles in Corporate and Commercial Banking, reaching the position of commercial manager, before joining BankWest.

Here he spent nine years in both the Corporate Banking and Resource Financing teams, ultimately leading the Bank’s Corporate Banking team of eight people for three years. In this role, he was involved in managing the Bank’s largest client accounts, with diverse interests in seafood, property, wine, gaming, health care, large scale market gardening, engineering and forestry products.

During this time, he was also involved in a number of high profile, structured financings in the resources and infrastructure sectors.

Major transactions included:

Significant transactions included the Hope Downs 1 project financing for Hancock Prospecting, oil and gas field financings in Mauritania, Western Australia, Turkey and provided the initial debt funding for Aurora Oil & Gas in the acquisition of shale gas assets in Texas.

After leaving banking, John joined a boutique corporate advisory firm as Director Corporate Finance, advising public mining companies on raising debt finance for projects in various commodities and jurisdictions including Africa, Brazil and Fiji. This included financial modelling of project economics, preparation of Information Memorandums, Board and lender presentations, negotiation of terms and execution of financings. In 2011, John closed the US$205M financing for Discovery Metals' Boseto Copper project in Botswana, which was awarded African Mining Finance Deal of the year.

John managed the firm’s equity capital markets partnership with Canadian investment bank CIBC and was a co-founder, director and shareholder of MinesOnline.com, a global web based market place for mining projects. The Toronto Stock Exchange purchased 50% of MinesOnline.com in 2011.

John has lectured on project finance for FINSIA, where he was a Fellow and also participated in The Young Member Mentoring Program. He holds a Business Degree (Economics and Finance) from Curtin University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, a Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking and a Diploma in Mortgage and Finance Broking.

Since establishing C4 Capital, John has sourced funding solutions for clients in a wide variety of industries, but especially those in the property sector where he has been involved with house and land, built form and commercial investment deals.

John is also an active property investor and developer in his own right.

When not arranging finance for his clients or running around after his young family, he remains a keen windsurfer (even doing the occasional race) and stand up paddle surfer.
